MNDA Communication Aid Funding for Speech and Language Therapy Teams

The Motor Neurone Disese Association are pleased to announce the further funding is available for Speech and Language Therapy Teams. Between 2015 and 2016 the mnda was able to provide a total of £73, 000 across 33 Speech & Language Therapy Teams.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Wolfson Foundation, local or community SLT teams, or teams with an SLT input are invited to apply for AAC assessment kit to be used for assessment purposes for people with MND. The application process requires the applying team to provide a list of current equipment and a list of what they would like, this will then be shared with the relevant specialist AAC centre (Barnsley Assistive Technology Team), and if approved we will then purchase and gift the equipment to the team. Ongoing monitoring will need to take place and will be detailed to the applying team once the application is approved.
